	EC1.1 Unemployment rates
	The following table provides a summary of unemployment rates (Census 2001). It can be seen that the picture in the Tavistock area was similar to that for Devon, and better than for England and Wales as a whole. The main area for concern is the larger proportion of young unemployed males compared with county, regional and national averages.
