Each of the specialist shops has the potential to draw in visitors and shoppers from outside the local area. In the absence of a dedicated survey, anecdotal evidence suggests that Crebers has significant drawing power as do the quality ladies’ fashion shops.

The main gap in the market appears to be a shortage of cafes that stay open for early evening refreshments. A further and more recent trend has been a decline in the number of craft bakers, to the extent that it is now very difficult to buy bread made in the traditional way.
