The old Sweet’s shop in West Street has been vacant for over ten years during extremely protracted restoration work which is still far from finished. Next door, the old Verity’s shop completed its own lengthy refurbishment early in 2003 and has been available for letting since. In the Arcade, some very small shops are vacant. Elsewhere vacancy levels are low but the old Tavistock Times office in Brook Street (primary location) and a shop in Russell Street (secondary location) have been vacant for over a year.
