| EC2.9 Confidence of local retailers about future trading prospects | |
The
main issue about retailer confidence is whether Tavistock can retain
an identity that is synonymous with quality and independent retailing
as more high street chain stores acquire town centre premises. If
the ‘chains’ occupy too many premises, yet carry a smaller
range than their bigger sisters in Plymouth can, Tavistock risks
losing the very thing that makes it different and attractive. |

‘Reduce
taxation on small businesses.’ 'No
more coffee shops, estate agents, supermarkets or charity shops.' ‘Would
like to see late night and evening shopping in summer.’ |
