The following table shows by accommodation type the numbers of visitors staying overnight in West Devon as a whole. Separate figures are not available for the Tavistock area alone but they are likely to show a similar seasonal pattern. Although these figures follow in the wake of the Foot and Mouth Disease Outbreak (February 2001 to July 2001), there is clearly plenty of scope for increasing occupancy rates in all months and especially from October to May.
