| EC6.2 Town centre management | |
|
|
With a large estate acquired from the Duke of Bedford in 1911, Tavistock Town Council is very influential in shaping commercial policies for the town centre. Day-to-day management is exercised by the Town Clerk with the support of two office staff. Liaison between the Town Council and other Councils, particularly West Devon Borough Council, is ensured by holding regular liaison meetings. More
widely, it is recognised that there is a need to co-ordinate the staging
and publicity of events to ensure that wealth-earning opportunities
can be properly exploited by all sections of the business community.
This suggests a need for a co-ordination committee and someone to develop
and maintain an appropriate website. |
