| EN2.7 Participation of community groups in managing the countryside | |
|
|
There is
very wide scope for community group participation in managing the countryside.
Much is already happening through groups such as the Devon Wildlife Trust,
Tavistock and District Conservation Project, the Woodland Trust and BTCV
but it is difficult to gain an overview of all that they do. Local Authority
Biodiversity Action Plans could encourage a more joined-up approach and
the wider involvement of community groups in conservation management.

‘More
publicity for West Devon Wildlife Survey.’ ‘Allow
visitors to actively participate in environmental projects.’ ‘Have
experimental approach to conservation.’ ‘Improve
incentives and recycling services for different materials, especially
plastics.’ |
| Strategic
Aims: Environment; Conserve and enhance the natural environment Environment; Reduce waste and energy consumption |
