The Housing Needs Survey identifies a net demand for affordable housing to be 387 units annually across all of West Devon. With current funding levels, delivery is at a rate of around 40 units per annum. The situation is likely to improve when new local plan policies will require increased developer contributions but even then supply will remain far short of demand.
