WDBC Housing Needs Study 2000

50% of households in West Devon have an income of £14,500 or less. Meanwhile, house prices have risen in line with regional trends (25% between October 2000 and April 2002). The maximum affordable amount of £84 per week for a 3 bedroomed house would only achieve a mortgage of approximately £76,000; well below the present cost of most properties in the area.

‘Build houses that are more affordable for young people.’
