The following table indicates the most up to date information on the levels of housing costs that can be afforded by those in housing need.

of households in West Devon have an income of £14,500 or less.
Meanwhile, house prices have risen in line with regional trends (25%
between October 2000 and April 2002). The maximum affordable amount
of £84 per week for a 3 bedroomed house would only achieve a
mortgage of approximately £76,000; well below the present cost
of most properties in the area. |
