There are plans to rebuild the road junction by the George Hotel in Plymouth which should reduce peak-time journeys into Plymouth. Elsewhere, road safety improvements should result in fewer accidents and the following schemes are programmed to take place in 2004 – 2005:

  • Anderton Lane footway
  • Roundabout at Gulworthy Cross
  • Mini-roundabout at Brook Lane junction
  • Zebra crossings by Westbridge Cottages, in Pixon Lane and Callington Road.

In addition, about £1.3M is allocated for maintaining the local area highway network and much of this is aimed at reducing the proportion of roads that have a skidding resistance deficiency.
