It has not been possible to ascertain the extent of bus delays within the scope of the Health Check but they appear to be common. Whilst hold-ups due to road conditions undoubtedly occur from time to time, most delays appear to arise for other reasons.

‘The drivers leave the depot about five minutes late and then speed along the route. People boarding have to wait for longer than expected and get off all shaken about. It does not make for relaxed travelling.’
